best beaches on Karpathos
At the bay of Pigadia: a long sandy beach with crystal-clear waters. Further to the South: Beaches of Ammoopi (6.5 km) and Makriyialos.
Further in Ammoopi: the beachfront sites of Lakki and Fotia.
At Aperi: the closed and protected bight of Achata - pebbly beach and azure-blue waters; beach of Kyra Panaghia (7 km NE)
At Arkasa: the beachfront site at the settlement - Beaches of Finiki (1 km N), Proni (4 km N). The beach of Aghios Nikolaos rates fifth amongst the beast beaches in Greece.
At Diafani: the pebbly beaches of Diafani and Vanata (20 min. walk).
In the township of Lefkos: the beachfront sites of the settlement - Further to the north, by boat to the beaches of Froisi, Lares, Makris Yialos, Aghia Irini and Physes. Soutwards: beaches at Potali and Phoki.
At Makris Yialos: spacious beaches - Lovely beachfront site at Aphiartis.
At Spoa: not to be missed is the picturesque coastal settlement of Aghios Nikolaos (5km E) and the Bight of Apella (6km NE) featuring a beautiful beach and crystal-clear waters.
